Vidya learned from ‘grandmother’s purse’, started Ayurvedic clinic at home

Malti Verma of Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh has become self-reliant by making Ayurvedic medicines from herbs. After graduation, Malti, who was a housewife, took training from the Grandmother’s Wallet program of Deendayal Research Institute and started a small clinic at home. She prepares powders, decoctions and other medicines by organically growing medicinal plants like Tulsi, Giloy, Ashwagandha, Amla, Brahmi and Neem. Patients are getting benefits from these medicines made without chemicals. People come from Balrampur, Bahraich, Shravasti and Gonda for treatment. His recognition has increased in one year and he is also earning good income.
