Washington. In the first 12 hours of ‘Operation Epic Fury’, the US military carried out about 900 attacks against Iran. Fox News gave this information quoting an American official. US officials say the attacks were carried out from land, air and sea and included drones, as well as hundreds of Iranian ballistic missiles. A US official says Iran fired about 300 missiles in the first 12 hours of the fighting, which began with a US-Israeli joint operation around 9:30 a.m. local time in Tehran on Saturday morning.

A US official told Fox News that Iran has about 2,000 long-range missiles and 2,000 short-range missiles – both of which were replenished after US and Israeli strikes last summer. The official claimed that Iran launched an attack on an ’empty warehouse’ targeting the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain, and said that any Iranian counterstrike did not impact US objectives in ‘Operation Epic Fury’.

The official says the purpose of the operation is to ensure that Iran no longer has the ability to attack its neighbors: no drones, no missiles, no navy. US official claims that Washington knows where Iran is storing its highly enriched uranium, but it is difficult to reach there.

The official expects the operation against Iran to last for ‘a few weeks’, but US President Donald Trump may decide to end it earlier. The US official further said that there are still many Iranian air defenses left for the US and Israel to suppress before they can operate more freely in Iranian skies.
