In today’s time, people are constantly troubled by mental unrest. In such a situation, mental piece has become the biggest luxury. But many people say that they are unable to meditate. Their mind is full of work, worries and goals. Some people feel that their body is unable to sit quietly during meditation.

In such a situation, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the founder of Art of Living, says that the problem is not in meditation, but in its wrong understanding. Meditation is not difficult concentration. This is “the art of doing nothing”. There is no need to exert force in this, but to leave the mind and body loose.

It is important to understand these things to do meditation

– Hard work is necessary in worldly work, but too much effort in meditation has the opposite effect. The secret of success in meditation is to be comfortable. It is helpful to do deep breathing or pranayama for a few minutes before meditation. This increases energy in the body and the mind automatically becomes calm.

– Many people try to remove their thoughts while meditating. If one day there is a good experience and the next day the mind is troubled, then they want to remove that problem. Gurudev says – accept it. Tell your mind, “Okay, you also stay here.” When we stop fighting the discomfort, it gradually subsides.

– If thoughts start coming as soon as you sit in meditation, do not panic. Thoughts are not the enemy. Look at them as clouds come and go in the sky. The more you stop them, the more they will last. If you let them go, they calm down on their own.

– Sometimes there is movement or tingling in the body during meditation. This may be a sign that stress is being released from the body. It is beneficial to do some walking, stretching or yoga before meditation. If you feel uneasiness during meditation, remain calm and let it pass.

– Sometimes meditation can seem boring. But with regular practice the same meditation becomes refreshing again. So keep practicing.

– There is no need for any special posture for meditation. You can sit comfortably on a chair, sofa or on the floor. If there is pain in the body, the mind will remain stuck there. Therefore give priority to rest.

take care
If meditating alone seems difficult, seek help from a teacher. Meditation is not the only way to reduce stress. It strengthens the mind and body. Regular meditation increases energy and the person feels calm and happy from within. Gradually it leads to a feeling of deep and lasting pleasure.
