Tips to Fix Post-Holi Tanning: People have a lot of fun in the hustle and bustle of Holi, but they are not able to take care of their skin during the festival. Due to chemical colors, staying in the sun for hours and frequent washing of the face, the skin loses its natural moisture, due to which the face starts looking lifeless, dry and dark. Often people use hard soap or face wash to remove these colors, which disturbs the pH balance of the skin. In such a situation, instead of expensive facials or chemical treatments, we can regain our glow by using some things present in our kitchen. These things deeply hydrate the skin.
Dr. Saroj Gautam, Principal and Senior Ayurvedacharya of Prem Raghu Medical College, Hathras, UP told News18. That the paste of curd and gram flour can bring amazing glow to your skin after Holi. After Holi, rubbing of curd and gram flour is the oldest and effective way to remove color and dirt from the skin. Gram flour acts as a natural cleanser and deeply cleans the pores. Whereas the lactic acid present in curd removes the tanning of the skin and makes it soft. Mix one spoon curd in two spoons of gram flour and apply it on the face and when it dries, rub it off gently. It brings instant glow to the face by removing dead cells.
Applying raw milk and honey can also bring back the glow of the skin. If your skin is feeling stretched and dry due to chemical colors, then raw milk is the best option for you. Raw milk is a natural moisturizer, which hydrates the skin. Mixing one spoon of honey in it and massaging it on the face calms down the pigmentation and brings glow to the skin. The anti-bacterial properties of honey also help in preventing minor infections caused by colors. Apply it for 15 minutes and wash with plain water. With this you will get good results in some time.
Papaya pulp and lemon juice are no less than a boon for the skin. Papaya is a panacea to remove tanning caused by sun during Holi. Mash ripe papaya and add a few drops of lemon juice to it. The papain enzyme present in papaya clears the skin tone and lemon acts as a natural bleach. This pack is very effective in removing stubborn color marks from the face. Within a few minutes of applying this, your face will become clearer than before.
A cold pack of aloe vera and cucumber can also have magical effects on your skin. A cooling pack is needed to soothe the itching and redness of the skin caused by colors and gulal. Grate the cucumber and extract its juice and add fresh aloe vera gel to it. Applying this mixture on the face cools the skin and repairs the damage caused by the sun. This pack not only soothes the skin, but it also gives a fresh and glowing look to the face.
If a layer of color has accumulated on the face, then tomato juice and sugar scrub can do wonders. Tomato contains lycopene and antioxidants, which detoxify the skin. Put some sugar on half a chopped tomato and scrub it in circular motion on the face. It cuts the dark colors easily and removes the darkness from the face and gives it a rosy glow. People with sensitive skin can use powdered sugar so that it does not cause rubbing.
