International Women’s Day 2026: On International Women’s Day, discussions related to women are taking place everywhere. At some places the achievements of women are being counted, and at some places their rights are being talked about. Meanwhile, the biggest problem related to women i.e. health issues is getting very little mention. The burden of responsibilities of family and professional life is proving dangerous for women’s health. Nowadays, even young women are becoming victims of serious diseases. You will be surprised to know that women generally live longer than men, but many years of their lives are spent battling diseases. This makes their life more painful and painful.
According to researchers, such diseases are more common in men, which are fatal. These include heart attack or serious infection. For this reason the average age of men is less. On the other hand, such diseases have been seen more in women, which do not kill, but weaken the body from within. Women spend a large part of their longevity with pain, fatigue and medicines. Problems like bone pain, arthritis, migraine, back pain, anxiety and depression are more common in women. These diseases make the everyday life of women difficult. At the same time, men have more cases of alcohol related diseases, lung problems and road accidents, which lead to untimely death.
University of Washington researcher Luisa Sorio Flor says that this difference starts appearing from the age of 10-12. Due to hormonal changes and social pressure, girls start complaining of mental health and physical pain earlier than boys. As age increases, these small problems accumulate, due to which by the time they reach old age, the body of women becomes weaker than that of men. Women have been blessed with the biological blessing of long life. The estrogen hormone present in their body protects their heart till menopause. However, socially women often ignore their health. In order to take care of the family, they do not get their minor illnesses treated. This is the reason why their minor problems turn into chronic diseases with time, which do not leave them throughout their life.
Scientists say that now the time has come that governments and doctors should stop looking at the health of women and men in the same way. Such health plans should be made for women, which pay attention to their chronic diseases. At the same time, such strategies are needed for men, which can protect them from risk-taking habits and heart diseases. This gap cannot be filled without gender-specific treatment. This study shows that just breathing is not enough, but staying healthy is most important. Nature has given women a long life, but to make that age happy, they have to give priority to their health.
