IND vs NZ ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Final: There is no doubt that Jasprit Bumrah will have the main responsibility of the Indian bowling attack in the T20 World Cup mega final as well.
There is no doubt that Jasprit Bumrah will have the main responsibility of the Indian bowling attack even in the mega final of the T20 World Cup. New Zealand will face India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Cricket experts believe that Bumrah’s four overs in this important match can play a big role in deciding the fate of the match. Ahead of the biggest cricket clash of the year, Jasprit Bumrah has achieved a rare feat in international cricket.
Bumrah took the 500th wicket of his international career in the second semi-final match of the current World Cup. He dismissed England captain Harry Brooke on the first ball of his first over in the India vs England match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 5 March. Brook is caught by Akshar Patel. Through this, Bumrah became the first cricketer in the world to take 500 wickets in international cricket with an average of less than 21.
Bumrah has played 235 international matches for India so far. His total of 500 wickets in these matches and a bowling average of 20.62 is the best of all bowlers to reach this milestone. In the history of international cricket, 42 bowlers have taken 500 or more wickets, but only Bumrah has a bowling average below 21.
Australia’s legendary bowler Glenn McGrath is second in this list. He took 949 wickets in 376 matches and his bowling average was 21.76. Bumrah has so far taken 234 wickets in Tests, 149 in ODIs and 117 in T20 Internationals. With 10 wickets in seven matches in the current World Cup, he has once again become the mainstay of India’s bowling attack.
