Hyperhidrosis Main Causes: Excessive sweating of hands and feet in summer is not just the effect of heat, but can be a condition called hyperhidrosis. This problem arises due to overactive glands, stress or wrong eating habits. To control this problem, measures like antiperspirant, proper footwear and stress management can be taken.

Hyperhidrosis condition can be the reason for excessive sweating.
Tips To Control Excessive Sweating: In summer season the condition becomes worse due to sweating. Sweating is a normal physiological process, which helps in controlling our body temperature. However, for many people this condition becomes a cause of trouble when the palms of their hands and soles of their feet start sweating more than normal. In medical science this condition is called palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis. Excessive sweating not only weakens the grip of the hands, but also increases the risk of foul smell and fungal infection in the feet.
Dr. Sonia Rawat, Director of Preventive Health and Wellness Department, Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi told News18. The primary reason for excessive sweating in hands and feet is overactivity of the eccrine glands. When we feel hot or are under stress, the nervous system activates these glands. However, in the case of a person suffering from hyperhidrosis, the sympathetic nerves that control sweating continue to send signals to these glands even without any external stimulation. Apart from this, heredity, thyroid problem, low blood sugar or hormonal changes can also be the main reasons behind this. The increased temperature in summer accelerates this process further, due to which the palms remain wet all the time.
The doctor told that our eating habits also affect the amount of sweat. Excessive caffeine, spicy and spicy foods trigger the body’s fight and flight response, leading to excessive sweating. Alcohol consumption and smoking also disrupt the body’s metabolism and temperature regulation. Apart from this, in summer, wearing synthetic clothes or poor quality rubber shoes does not provide enough air to the feet, due to which moisture gets trapped inside and sweat, along with bacteria, starts creating a strong foul smell.
According to experts, to deal with this problem, cleanliness and selection of the right product are important. For hands, use antiperspirants containing aluminum chloride, which temporarily blocks sweat glands. Always wear cotton socks for feet, which can absorb sweat and make a habit of changing shoes. As a natural remedy, dipping hands and feet in cold water mixed with apple cider vinegar or alum helps in tightening the pores. If the problem is very serious, doctors recommend modern treatments like iontophoresis or Botox injections, which block the sweat signals.
