The home boy won the world cup for the country. India made history by scoring half-centuries in 3 life-or-death matches in India’s World Cup win. If that boy returns home, there will be no celebration, will it happen again? Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson was accorded a royal welcome by fans at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Monday.
After playing a pivotal role in India’s victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, a huge crowd thronged the airport to welcome him back to his hometown. Fans lined up around the airport to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars. There was great euphoria and joy surrounding Sanju as he played a major role in India’s title win.
Sanju Samson was moved by this heartwarming reception. “It feels like a dream to me. I dared to dream this. I wanted to win the World Cup for my country. I wanted to contribute in such a way that today’s success is possible. I am very happy and feel truly blessed,” he said.
India’s World Cup-winning superstar also said, “From a young age, I learned to look at the situation positively. I think all the hardships, failures and setbacks in life have made me stronger. That’s why what I’ve been able to do today is possible. If life’s hardships, disappointments or failures can be used positively, they can become your greatest strengths. That’s what happened to me, and I’m very grateful for that.”

Incidentally, at one time Sanju Samson was left out of the first eleven. But Abhishek Sharma’s illness in the T20 World Cup and the excess of left-handed batsmen in the team gave him another chance. Sanju did not have to look back after that. He played an innings scoring 97 runs against West Indies and match winning 89 runs against England and New Zealand. Sanju Samson was also selected as the best of the series.
