The entire Indian team is overjoyed to win the T20 World Cup by making history at home. The whole country is in celebration mood. Just then, Team India’s star pacer Arshdeep Singh got bad news. The Indian left-handed pacer had to be punished for Arshdeep’s unintended incident with New Zealand’s star batsman Darrell Mitchell during the final match.
A tense moment developed between Arshdeep Singh and New Zealand batsman Darryl Mitchell during the match. In the eleventh over of New Zealand’s innings, Arshdeep stopped a ball and threw it hard towards Mitchell. The ball hits Mitchell’s pads. Mitchell got angry and came towards Arshdeep and protested. When things got a little heated, the umpires quickly stepped in and tried to calm the duo down.

After this incident Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav also came in the middle and handled the situation. He talks to Daryl Mitchell and tries to calm the matter down. Later after the end of the over, Arshdeep Singh and Daryl Mitchell were seen holding hands and talking to each other on the field, which helped to ease the tension.
However, after reviewing the video and reports of the incident, the International Cricket Council found Arshdeep Singh guilty of breaching the code of conduct. Throwing the ball dangerously at a player during a match is a punishable offense as per organization rules. Arshdeep Singh was fined 15 percent of his match fee for this and a demerit point was also added to his disciplinary record. However, if involved in such incidents repeatedly in the future, it may lead to deportation.
It should be noted that this is Arshdeep Singh’s first crime in the last 24 months. A formal hearing was therefore not required and he accepted the penalty awarded by the match referee. Although there was some controversy over the incident, in the end the players of both the teams settled the matter amicably and the match ended in a historic victory for the Indian team.
