IPL 2026 is going to start from March 28. This much awaited competition of cricket lovers is waiting to start in full swing. However, this season is not starting with a repeat of last year’s final. Each team is gearing up differently and the excitement around the new season is already building.
According to reports, last time champions Royal Challengers Bangalore are likely to play their season opener in Bengaluru on March 28. The name of Chennai Super Kings is most heard as their opponent. The fight between these two teams in IPL is always a special attraction for the audience. So if there is such a high-voltage fight in the first match, the tension can rise from the beginning of the competition.
On the other hand, Punjab Kings can start their campaign a day later i.e. on March 29. Their first match is likely to be against Gujarat Titans in Mullanpur. Although Punjab Kings made it to the finals last season, the start of this year’s IPL will not see a repeat of last year’s finals.
Two important pre-season programs have also been scheduled before the start of the IPL. Captains photoshoot will be held in Delhi on March 15. After that, an important meeting will be held in Mumbai with the captains and coaches of all the teams on March 25. There will be discussions on new rules, competition management and various issues related to the season.
Note that in the history of IPL which started in 2008, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s first title will come in 2025. After a long wait, the team got that success. Earlier stars like Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli led but failed to win the trophy. Finally, under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, that dream was fulfilled. RCB is going to start the new season as the champion team.
