Pakistan cricket team tasted a humiliating defeat in the first one-day match against Bangladesh. After a disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup, several changes were made in the team. But to no avail. On the other hand, Pakistan faced the Bengal Tigers. Pakistan were bowled out for just 114 runs in just 30.4 overs in the ODI match. In response, Bangladesh won by 8 wickets by Mercatori batting in 15.1 overs.
Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first. In the first match, Bangladesh controlled the match from the start. In front of the controlled and disciplined bowling of Bangladesh, Pakistan’s batting lineup was under pressure from the start. As wickets fell at regular intervals, they could not form big pairs. Had Fahim Ashraf not played an innings of 37 runs at the end, Bangladesh would have faced a more embarrassing score. In Bangladesh bowling, Nahid Rana alone took 5 wickets and made a dream spell. Besides, Mehdi Hasan Miraj took 3 wickets.
Chasing a short run target, the batsmen played in an aggressive mood right from the start. Opener Tanjid Hasan Tamim scored a brilliant batting half-century and took the team a long way to victory. His storming innings saw runs pile up quickly and Bangladesh’s victory was almost assured. Although Saif Hasan was out in the beginning, it could not create any pressure on Bangladesh.
In the end, Bangladesh completed the target in just 15.1 overs. It is clear that how dominant the Bangladesh team has been in the entire match. Pakistan’s bowlers could not put up much resistance. As a result, Bangladesh secured the win easily with 8 wickets in hand and took a 1-0 lead in the series. Now the remaining matches of the series become a big challenge for Pakistan to turn around.
