What is text neck syndrome?

Doctors say that it puts extra load on the spinal cord, which can cause muscle strain, compression of nerves and headache. This problem mainly occurs due to excessive use of screen. The doctor said that the onset of cervical cancer could also be due to this. He told that it is being seen in people between 18 years to 44 years. It is very important to avoid this. For this, do not use mobile continuously. Rest is necessary in between. Try to avoid bending down to look at any screen like mobile etc.

Know the symptoms of the disease

Agra’s senior doctor Ashish Mittal said that at present the patient knows very little about text neck syndrome. He said that the number of patients suffering from this disease in hospitals is increasing very rapidly. He said that this is happening even among young people, the main reason for which is excessive use of mobile phones. He said that there are some main reasons for this which should not be ignored. Dr. Ashish Mittal said that the main symptoms of text neck syndrome are severe or persistent pain and stiffness in the neck, shoulders and upper back, which arises due to the use of smartphone or tablet for a long time. It starts when the neck remains bent for a long time. He said that due to this disease, headache, lack of neck movement, numbness or tingling in the arms and habit of sitting bent can also occur. It is important to prevent this and it is important to get it treated in time before the problem increases, otherwise it can also become risky in the future.

Ways to prevent tech syndrome

Senior doctor Ashish Mittal said that some measures can be taken to avoid text neck syndrome disease. The most important thing is that while using the phone, instead of bending the head forward, keep the screen at eye level. The spine should remain straight while looking at the phone or any screen. He said that while using mobile phone, laptop or watching TV, take breaks of at least 20 minutes in between and do stretching. This condition arises from excessive stress on the neck muscles due to incorrect posture. If you do not have a mobile or laptop, then keep distance from it.
