Such trees and plants are found standing silently on the roadside, which are no less than a lifesaver. One such precious tree is that of Chilbil, which is also known as Desi Papdi in many places. This tree is considered very useful in Ayurveda.

According to Dr. Priyanka Singh, seven years experienced Ayurvedacharya of Ballia, Chilbil is beneficial and effective in many health problems. The decoction of its bark is very beneficial for people suffering from constipation. Drinking about 10 to 20ml decoction is beneficial for the digestive system. Taking juice of its leaves with honey is also beneficial in case of stomach ache and stomach worms. Chilbil fruit is also very useful for piles patients. Taking the powder of its fruit with lukewarm water provides relief from bloody piles. Apart from this, grinding its leaves and applying it is also beneficial in case of joint pain or swelling.

The fruits, leaves and bark of Chilbil are considered effective in many diseases. Chilbil tree may look simple, but its benefits are surprising. In case of elephantiasis (filariasis), it is also advised to consume chilbil leaves juice mixed with mustard oil. The paste of its bark powder is beneficial in boils, wounds and skin diseases. Applying paste of tamarind seeds and chilbil fruit on the body removes the bad smell of sweat. Taking the powder of its fruit with honey provides relief in the problem of bleeding from nose or ears. No side effects of any kind have been registered, but people suffering from serious diseases should not consume it without consulting an Ayurveda doctor.
