Donald Trump News: America has not yet won the Iran war. Iran stands firmly against Israel and America. Giving a befitting reply to every attack. Iran is responding to the American-Israeli attack with its missiles and cheap drones. The Iran war still seems to be far from over. Even before that, Donald Trump is seen losing in his country America. Yes, Donald Trump is badly stuck on the Iran war. There is a lot of resentment among the American public due to his decisions. No American President in recent memory has gone to war against Iran with as little public support as Donald Trump. Even Barack Obama’s intervention in Libya began in 2011 with the support of 60 percent of Americans. Even after all this, Obama was criticized. In no survey has the majority of the American public shown support for the Iran war, but in many surveys the clear majority is against it. Generally, as wars progress, support for them decreases further.
The thinking of Americans came to the fore
In this regard, political scientist Bruce Jentelson says that support for the war in America depends not only on its progress but also on the public’s attitude. Americans generally support wars that are meant to deter aggressive forces, not to bring about political change in other countries. This is why the Bush administration claimed that Iraq had weapons of destruction and was linked to 9/11, whereas the real objective was regime change. The purpose of the Iran war is also regime change, which Donald Trump has been saying for many months. Trump and his team described Iran as an ‘immediate threat’, but this argument did not resonate with many people.
Trump’s arguments are of no use
Trump himself had claimed that he had ‘completely dismantled’ Iran’s nuclear program last year. In videos released after the attacks, Trump mentioned the 1979 Tehran hostage crisis, the 1983 attack on US Marines in Beirut and the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, in which he said Iran was probably involved. Secretary of State Marco Rubio made the complex argument that the US attacked in self-defense because it knew Israel would attack Iran and Iran would retaliate. This argument was also not liked by many people in America, especially when people’s opinion about Israel is changing.
What didn’t the Americans like?
America did not like the fact that it was becoming more and more cautious about Israel. A Gallup poll released just before the war began showed that for the first time this century, Americans said their sympathies lay with the Palestinians rather than the Israelis. The largest recent decline in support for Israel has been seen among politically independents, whose views have changed significantly during the Gaza war. Tucker Carlson, the right-wing critic of the Iran war, was quick to call it Israel’s war. Joe Rogan is an influential figure among the disillusioned young men in Donald Trump’s 2024 support base. He also said that he felt ‘betrayed’ by this Iran war.

Defense Secretary Pete’s image tarnished
Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has tried to convince Americans for this war by talking about the death, destruction and fear of the Iran war. Even though investigations show that the US military was responsible for the bombing of a school, in which more than a hundred children were killed. Yet he dismisses the rules of military action as stupid. The most recent Quinnipiac poll showed Hegseth’s approval rating at 37%. Despite big critics like Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene, Trump still has more MAGA supporters. He was never actually against foreign wars. What they hated was losing foreign wars, and Trump is promising them quick victories in Iran.
What will be the price of war?
But Trump has not prepared them or anyone else, not even his own cabinet, for what the price of this war will have to be. Especially for the turmoil in global oil markets. The International Energy Agency is calling it the biggest disruption in history and will lead to higher prices for everything from travel to food. Trump’s rhetoric about the costs of war has rarely been Churchillian. One night he posted on social media that the short-term increase in oil prices is a small price to pay for the security and peace of America and the world. Only idiots would think differently. But the very next day he had to calm the markets by claiming that the war was almost over.
What is Iran’s objective?
The main objective of the Iranian regime is to preserve its existence. Iran is well aware of the political and economic weaknesses of America and its Middle Eastern allies. It seems that he is targeting them only. Iran’s seemingly scattered attacks on infrastructure, embassies and hotels in the Gulf countries at the beginning of the war were a laughing stock for some American commentators. But these attacks ultimately proved enough to disrupt large swathes of energy production and shipping and cause far more damage than Trump or his supporters expected.
What are the American people most disappointed about?
Trump was already facing the same domestic problems that Joe Biden faced. No matter how much you tell Americans about positive GDP, stock market and employment figures; If they are struggling with the rising cost of living, their view of both the economy and the president will remain bleak. Trump’s nonchalant comments about oil prices sound similar to the airy assurances he gave at the beginning of the pandemic. There are very few Republicans in Congress who are ready to stand up to Trump on the issue of war. But as the midterm elections approach, many of them may be secretly praying that Trump finds an excuse to end this war as soon as possible.
