Ashok Dinda: He won the election and became MLA from Maina. Former Indian cricketer Ashok Dinda has again been nominated by the BJP.
Calcutta : Former Indian cricketer Ashok Dinda has been nominated by Bharatiya Janata Party from Maina Assembly seat. Notably, he won from West Bengal’s Maina assembly seat in 2021 and is currently serving as an MLA.
Apart from West Bengal, four other Indian states are going to polls—Assam, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Elections will also be held in the Indian Union Territory of Pondicherry.
Ashok Dinda, a candidate for West Bengal’s Maina assembly seat in the upcoming elections, played four years for India. However, his cricket career was not long. However, 41-year-old Dinda has made quite a name in politics. Dinda performed brilliantly in his last T20 match against Pakistan. However, he was dropped from the team and never made a comeback.
Ashok Dinda made his T20 international debut for India in 2009. After that, he made his debut in ODI cricket in 2010. However, his career did not last long and Dinda played his last match in 2013. During these four years he bowled 13 innings of 13 ODIs and took 12 wickets. His best performance was 2/44.
