Let us tell you that only three-four countries have more than 50% of the world’s total natural gas reserves. The first name in this is Russia. In this matter, Russia is the number 1 country in the world. It has about 24% of global reserves. There are vast areas of Siberia like Urengoy and Yamburg. The second name is Iran. Iran is at second place in terms of gas reserves. Iran has half of the South Pars-North Dome field in the Persian Gulf. After this comes Qatar. It is the third largest country which has gas reserves. North Field is the world’s largest gas field. Qatar is also the world’s largest exporter of LNG i.e. Liquefied Natural Gas. Similarly, Turkmenistan comes at number four. It is very rich with the Galkinysh field. America (USA) is at number five in gas storage, but number 1 in production. Large reserves of shale gas are in Texas and Pennsylvania. India also has some reserves like Krishna-Godavari Basin (KG Basin), Assam, Gujarat (Gulf of Khambhat) and Rajasthan but consumption is less. It is much less than India, hence India imports about 50% of its natural gas requirement.

Where is the maximum production of LPG in the world?

Recently, a big agreement of $ 78 billion has been signed between India and Qatar, in which 75 lakh tonnes of LPG supply will continue till 2048. After this, United Arab Emirates (UAE), America (USA), Oman, Australia, Russia and other countries. The share of 14 kg kitchen cylinder in domestic use in India is 87% while the share of 19 kg commercial cylinder is only 13%. The Government of India is increasing production from domestic refineries to reduce dependence on imports. Recently there has been an increase of 25%, but tensions in the Middle East may affect the supply, so now imports are being increased from new sources like America, Norway, Canada and Russia.

Who has the most treasure?

Russia, Iran and Qatar have the largest reserves of gas in the world, while America is number 1 in LPG production. India gets most of its LPG from Qatar, but now diversity is being increased so that the supply remains secure.
