Mumbai: IPL(Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru) in ‘Super Sunday’ of IPL2026. Both teams have two superstars of the current generation of Indian cricket. So, naturally, the focus was on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in this match. But the night ended with injuries, concussions and lingering doubts for both stars.
After coming down to bat in the first innings, Virat did not field in the second innings Kohli. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma also came down to open as a retired heart. He did not even come out to bat later. Virat Kohli came out to bat first on this day. He bats very well. He played a 38-ball fifty innings. After that, Virat did not field again. But Kohli was not subbed out. Team David was instead subbed out and Rasheek Salam was brought in as an ‘Impact Sub’.
But Jacob Bethel entered the field as a substitute even though he did not play that day. After some time the commentators said that Bethel came to field instead of Kohli. Kohli is reported to have injured his ankle. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma opened for Mumbai Indians. However, ‘Hitman’ became ‘Retired Heart’ in the sixth over. It is heard that Rohit has strained his hamstring. That is why he was forced to leave the field. Suryakumar Yadav came in to bat in his place. The team lost five wickets under pressure but Rohit did not enter the field. This shows that Rohit’s injury is quite serious.
Batting first, RCB put up a massive 240 runs, courtesy the top-order’s impeccable batting and Tim David’s fine finishing. Against the Palts today Phil Salt, Virat Kohli And Rajat Patidar all scored half centuries. And at the last minute, Tim David gave the finishing touch to an unbeaten 34-run innings from 16 balls.
