According to experts, this problem can be controlled to a great extent with proper eating habits and timely treatment.

Excessive bleeding every month can become a big problem, this deficiency starts happening in the body.Zoom

Periods last for 3 to 7 days.

Periods i.e. menstruation is a natural and regular process in the life of women. Every month the body prepares itself for the possibility of pregnancy. If pregnancy does not occur, the inner layer of the uterus breaks and comes out of the body, which is called periods. This process usually lasts for a few days and bleeding during this period is considered normal. However, many women have to face more bleeding than normal during this period, which can become a cause of concern for health.

Usually periods last for 3 to 7 days. During this, a certain amount of blood comes out from the body. But when bleeding becomes excessive then it is called heavy menstrual bleeding. In this situation, iron deficiency starts due to excessive bleeding from the body. Because there is a lot of iron in the blood, due to continuous excessive bleeding the level of iron in the body can drop rapidly.

Iron is a very important nutrient for the body. It helps in producing hemoglobin in the body, which transports oxygen to different parts of the body through blood. When there is iron deficiency in the body, the level of hemoglobin also starts decreasing. This condition is called anemia. Due to anemia, many types of symptoms start appearing in the body, such as feeling of constant fatigue, weakness, dizziness, shortness of breath, hair fall and facial complexion becoming pale.

Health experts say that if you feel excessive fatigue, dizziness or weakness during periods, then it should not be ignored. This may be a sign of iron deficiency in the body. In such a situation, it becomes necessary to pay special attention to eating habits. Including iron-rich food in the diet can help in reducing this problem. Green leafy vegetables are considered very beneficial to overcome iron deficiency. Food items like spinach, beetroot, pulses, kidney beans and gram help in providing iron to the body. Apart from this, jaggery, pomegranate and dry fruits like raisins, dates and almonds are also considered good sources of iron. Eating these things regularly can help in removing iron deficiency in the body.

Besides, it is also important to consume Vitamin C along with iron. Vitamin C helps in improving the absorption of iron in the body. Therefore, it is considered beneficial to include fruits and food items like lemon, amla, orange, tomato, guava or strawberry with food. With this the body gets the full benefit of iron. If a woman is experiencing continuous excessive bleeding during her periods or is feeling extremely weak, then it is very important to consult a doctor. Many times doctors recommend taking iron-folic acid tablets, which helps in increasing the iron level in the body. With timely treatment and balanced diet, problems like anemia can be avoided and the body can be kept healthy.
