Kathmandu: The world record in the T20 (T20 Format) format is that of a Nepalese batsman. Nepal’s opener Kushal Bhurtel shared Yuvraj Singh’s record. Nepal took on China in the 2026 Asian Games Men’s T20 Qualifier at the Singapore National Cricket Ground. In that match, Virat attacked China’s bowling attack. This explosive batsman of Nepal set a precedent of six sixes in 6 balls.
Kushal Vurtel scored 129 runs off 43 balls in the match. The Nepalese batsman hit five boundaries and 16 sixes in his innings. Kushal became only the fifth batsman to hit six sixes in six balls in men’s T20I cricket. Nepal scored a total of 37 runs in one over of China’s Chen Zhuo Yu. The Chinese bowler also bowled a wide ball in that over. In the 2007 T20 World Cup, India’s Yuvraj Singh hit 6 sixes off Stuart Broad’s over against England. Dipendra Singh Airey became Nepal’s first batsman to hit six sixes off six balls against Qatar in 2024. Most sixes hit by a Nepalese batsman in men’s T20 cricket with 99 sixes. Second in the list is Dipendra Singh Airey who hit 89 sixes.
