Pakistan: Pakistan has complained against Bangladesh this time. Controversy continues over a wide ball at the end of the ODI series.
Karachi: Pakistan lost the one-day series in Bangladesh. Salman Aghara filed a complaint against Bangladesh after that loss. Pakistan has given a written complaint to the match referee Niamur Rashid.
Pakistan complained about a DRS in the third ODI of the series. Pakistan was chasing 291 runs against Bangladesh. At one time Pakistan needed 12 runs from 2 balls. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi was batting at that time.
Rishad Hossain’s ball fell on the leg side and Umpire Kumar Dharmasena gave it wide. After some time, Bangladesh took a review against that decision. The review shows that the ball hit the bottom of the bat. As a result, Wide’s decision changed. Shaheen got out on the last ball of the innings. Bangladesh won the match by 11 runs.
Pakistan complained that Bangladesh took a review after the stipulated 15 seconds had passed. There is no time display technology in this series for taking reviews. As a result, it is difficult to say whether it has been 15 seconds or not. However, Pakistan complained that Bangladesh took the review after watching the replay of the ball on the giant screen.
According to an international cricket media report, Pakistan said in their complaint that the opposition asked for the reconsideration only after the scene was replayed on the big screen.
Appealing for a review of the decision put Bangladesh at a position in the game from which their victory was almost assured. Before this ball, Pakistan needed 12 runs from two balls to win.
It is not clear exactly what the Pakistan Cricket Board asked the match official to do. But an apology is expected to calm the matter down. Bangladesh won the three-match series 2-1.
The incident added a new dimension to the rivalry between Pakistan and Bangladesh in the last one-day international. The second one-day international also saw tension, when Salman Ali Agha was run out, causing controversy. Mehdi Hasan dismissed Miraj Agha as a non-striker, sparking a heated debate over “sportsmanship”.
