Chennai: He has already got a chance in the Indian team in the T20 series against England and Ireland (India vs Ireland). Many are hoping that 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will soon play for the senior team in the jersey of the national team. Meanwhile, Krishnamachari Srikanth opened up about the possibility of playing a Test in Vaibhav.

IPLOn the strength of consistent performance, Suryavanshi got the first call to India’s T20 team. Tirashi World Cup winner Indian teamThe former opener said in an interview to news agency PTI, ‘This 15-year-old cricketer has a rare ability to attract the audience. He should be allowed to play normal game without putting too much pressure on him. What I like about Vaibhav Suryavanshi is his hunger to score runs consistently. If he goes beyond T20 cricket and progresses to ODI cricket and then reaches Test cricket. If he succeeds in Test cricket then I am sure you will see a renaissance of Test cricket.’

Referring to the flood of four-sixes seen in Suryavanshi’s bat, the left-handed teenage batsman says, ‘These days you need such kind of cricketer in the team. People turn on TV just to watch Suryavanshi. I also turn on the TV to watch Suryavanshi. He has created such an attraction around him, he is truly amazing.’

Vaibhav is currently playing for the Indian ‘A’ team. His on-field behavior in the match against Sri Lanka has also been questioned. “Don’t worry about what people say, play your natural game,” says the former head of the selection committee. He has incredible shooting ability, great eyes and great reflexes. I think the boy is great for the future of India.’

Vaibhav will have a chance in the series against England? Srikanth says, ‘I welcome Suryavanshi’s inclusion in the England series. Keep him in reserve for the England series. Let him understand that this is international cricket. I think he should stay with the team, even if he doesn’t get a place in the XI, because Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma are playing, they are sure. If you want to play against Ireland, play. But in no way should Vaibhav be pressured.’
