Sandeep Sarkar, Kolkata: He is one of the promising youngsters of the Bengal cricket team. IPLHe played for Delhi Capitals. It is believed that after Wriddhiman Saha, if any Bengal wicketkeeper-batsman is seen playing for the national team in the future, then it could be him. Although Abhishek Porde was hit with serious allegations outside the field. Not one or two, a case has been filed against the 23-year-old cricketer under section 19 of the Indian Code of Justice!

What exactly is the complaint against Chandannagar cricketer?

A young woman filed a serious complaint against Abhishek at the Magra police station some time ago. According to the sources, the medical student filed a series of serious complaints against Abhishek Podel such as sex with the promise of marriage, sexual harassment by threatening to expose offensive photos, and forced physical relations. At that time, however, Abhishek denied all the allegations. He also told ABP Live Bangla that he did not know anything about the complaint being lodged with the police.

The water didn’t stop there though. The lawyers of the young woman approached the Calcutta High Court. The case was heard on July 14 in the bench of Justice Sougat Bhattacharya. There, three lawyers of the young woman – Randev Sengupta, Akash Gangopadhyay and Amandeep Gupta said that a complaint under 19 sections has been filed against cricketer Abhishek Pordel. The sections are – 64 (1), 66, 69, 74, 75 (2), 79, 115 (2), 117 (2), 124, 127 (2), 109 (1), 308 (2), 351 (2), 351 (3), 316 (2), 318 (3), 61 (2), 3 (5) and 66 E/72 of the IT Act. It contains several non-bailable clauses. The lawyers claimed that the accused cricketer’s electronic device contained several photographs of the complainant, which could be defamatory if disclosed. The lawyer trio demanded immediate confiscation of them.

Government lawyer Suryanil Das told the judge that they had contacted the police officer in charge of Magra police station on July 6. Magra police informed that a pen drive was seized from the complainant and it was tested. Justice Saugata Bhattacharya directed that all electronic devices (mobile phones etc.) belonging to Abhishek and one of his friends should be confiscated immediately to ensure that no objectionable pictures, videos etc. of the complainant are shared anywhere else. August 11 is the next date of the case. On that day the Magra police station should be informed what steps have been taken.

Talking to the lawyers, it was learned that there will be no surprise even if he is arrested in all the cases filed against Abhishek. Because each is a serious complaint. ABP Live Bangla tried to contact Abhishek in this regard. His phone was found switched off. The phone rang on the WhatsApp call but did not pick up.

However, Kolkata Maidan was stunned by the whole incident. Many are surprised at the July 14 hearing Calcutta High CourtAbhishek did not ask any lawyer. It is said that Abhishek may not have thought that the water would move so far. Maybe that’s why he didn’t arrange a lawyer. Sourav Ganguly has contributed behind Abhishek’s rise. The former national team captain is often seen taking debutant batting classes. Sourav also coached Abhishek as the Director of Cricket in the Delhi Capitals team. However, if all the serious allegations against the left-handed batsman-wicketkeeper are proved, the Chandannagar cricketer may be in big trouble. Doubts may be created about his career.
