Sandeep Sarkar, Kolkata: There is no sign of stopping the controversy in Bengal cricket. This time the Nadia District Sports Association raised allegations of rigging by using ‘political influence’ in the annual general meeting of CAB. It is said that the form of the designated representative of the district sports organization has not been submitted! The Assistant District Magistrate or ADM of Nadia district represented Nadia district in the AGM of CAB after filing complaints.

Earlier, Medinipur District Sports Association had blasted allegations of exerting political influence and forcefully changing the nominated representatives in CAB annual general meeting and representing the district. It was said that former Trinamool MLA Sujoy Hazra represented Medinipur District Sports Association in the last CAB elections due to ‘political influence’. Who was arrested in connection with the land scam. By increasing the discomfort of CAB. Midnipur District Sports Association Secretary Sanjit Taroi alleged that his own name was sent as a representative but CAB Head Clerk Vishwapati Sen refused to take the form. Sanjith alleged that his representative was told by the CAB Head Clerk that the form would not be submitted without a resolution letter or an undertaking from the organization. This allegation, later in the meeting of Medinipur District Sports Association, the then Trinamool MLA Sujoy Hazra said that he himself Mamata Banerjee Or asked him to go to CAB AGM. That’s how the nomination paper changes.

Later, the CAB issued a statement denying the allegation, but the fact that the head clerk did not submit the form, verified the document as an extra-judicial act, was reversed and accepted. No one else is supposed to do the work except the Electoral Officer. The then CAB president Snehashis Gangopadhyay also told ABP Live Bangla, ‘I don’t know the rules, but maybe Vishwapati Sen did it thinking about the interests of the members. So that all organizations are represented.’

This time Nadia District Sports Association walked on the path of Medinipur District Sports Association and detonated a bomb. Alapan Chattopadhyay, Deputy General Secretary of Nadia District Sports Association, claimed that it was decided to send Ardhendu Ghosh as a representative to last year’s CAB AGM. Allegedly, the then DM did not accept that decision and sent the ADM to represent Nadia district in the annual general meeting of CAB ‘forcibly’! It was also alleged that such an atmosphere of ‘terror’ was created, that the Nadia District Sports Association was forced to drop Ardhendu’s name! Even after that, Ardhendu’s name was sent to the CAB as a representative from the District Sports Association. CAB refused to accept it.

Nadia District Sports Association Deputy General Secretary Alapan Chattopadhyay said, ‘Last year during CAB annual general meeting we wanted to send Ardhendu Ghosh as a representative. The members of our District Sports Association decide who will represent the CAB. Accordingly Ardhendu Ghosh was supposed to go. But the then DM did not accept our resolution and forcibly sent the ADM. We later sent Ardhendu’s name as the nominated representative. But CAB did not accept it. Instead ADM is accepted. In that case, the CAB did not want a resolution? Otherwise it supported immorality.’

Everyone who knows the truth about Indian cricket is surprised to hear the whole incident. because, Supreme Court The revised constitution of the Board and all State Cricket Associations following the recommendations of the appointed Lodha Committee states that the name of a government employee can never be sent as a representative in the elections of the Cricket Association. ADM is a high-ranking employee of the government! It is being said, if the Lodha Act is denied, what is the validity of the CAB election?

CAB, however, is reluctant to take responsibility. CAB treasurer and president Sourav Gangopadhyay’s chief of staff Sanjay Das was telling ABP Live Bangla, ‘The head of any district sports organization is the DM. If he sends someone as a nominated representative to the annual meeting, and that representative is the ADM, what can the CAB do there? All of them are senior government officials. I was not part of the election process at that time. But if the DM has sent someone, then it must be respected.’

Sanjay also gave an example. He said, ‘If the CAB president sends a letter to someone, and I do, then whose letter will be accepted? Of course the CAB President’s letter. Because that is the highest chair. As such, once the DM nominates someone, that is the final say. The rest belongs to the CAB Electoral Officer. He did what he thought was right. CAB has nothing to do in this case.’

The fact is that questions were raised about CAB’s electoral officer Sushant Ranjan Upadhyay in the Apex Council meeting on Friday. An e-mail was also sent to the CAB questioning his impartiality.
