Sandeep Sarkar, Kolkata: The age has passed seventy. Still clinging to the position. Thumbs up to the guidelines of the Supreme Court! Another complaint of irregularities in CAB, the governing body of Bengal cricket. After the joint secretary of the organization, this time vice president Nitish Ranjan Dutt is in Kathgara. Maidane who is known as Anu Dutta.

IPLThe country’s cricket was in turmoil in the case of spot fixing. Supreme CourtJustice Lodha’s committee changed the country’s cricket administration under the supervision of The constitution of the Indian Cricket Board was changed according to the recommendations given by the Lodha Committee. The constitution of all state cricket bodies was also changed.

The constitution clearly states that no one can be an official of any cricket organization after the age of 70. According to the rules, Roger Binny stepped down from the post of President of the Indian Cricket Board before the expiry of his term. Rajeev Shukla held the charge of BCCI President until Mithun Manhas was elected at the Board’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). Let us remind you that Roger Binny is a big name in cricket. He is the cricketer of Kapil Dev’s World Cup winning team.

In CAB, however, there are complaints one after another about holding on to posts even after passing seventy. A few days ago (May 23), CAB Joint Secretary, former cricketer Madan Ghosh completed 70 years. But he did not resign. Retain the position. Allotment for Joint Secretary in CAB is sitting at home. His nameplate is shining on the door!

After Madan, this time Nitish Ranjan Dutt is in Kathgara. His age is recorded as 70 years in the revised electoral roll. The polls are over and Anu Dutt has crossed the age of 70 as per the voter card. So how is he in office? Why do not follow the guidelines of the highest court of the country?

When asked for a reaction on this, Anu Dutt said, ‘I don’t know how I turned 70 in SIR. They seem to have caught the average.’ Couldn’t figure out what ‘average’ age is exactly though. Anu Dutt also says, ‘My date of birth is June 26, 1957 everywhere in my PAN card, Madhyamik admit card, passport. As such, I have not reached 70.’ The question is, the SIR phase has just been completed. Did he notice the age discrepancy? Have you applied anywhere? No answer.

CAB’s former joint secretary and treasurer Biswaroop De, former joint secretary Subir Gangopadhyay, however, stepped down after Lodha’s recommendations came into force. CAB President Sourav Gangopadhyay himself, former CAB President Abhishek Dalmia, Snehashis Gangopadhyaya have gone on mandatory cooling off. But the current administration does not follow the rules why? A large section of CAB is raising questions.

Anu Dutt, however, is raising a counter question, ‘In the past, some people have remained in office even after seven consecutive years. How could you do that?’ Maidan is waiting to see what steps CAB will take in the whole incident.
