Sandeep Sarkar, Kolkata: On the day Sports Minister Indranil Khan stood at the Eden Gardens and delivered a message of transparency, the CAB was hit by controversy over ticket fraud. Allegedly, some people tried to enter the field by making colored copies (color xerox) of hospitality box tickets in the final of Bengal T20 League. With which the governing body of Bengal cricket got upset.

There was a pair of Bengal T20 League finals at the Eden on Sunday. It was the final of the women’s category. Adams Howrah Warriors and Murshidabad Queens were supposed to meet in the match. However, that match could not be played on Sunday due to rain. That match will be on Monday on Reserve Day. In the men’s final this evening, Srachchi Raha Tigers and Sobisco Smashers Malda met. That final was also postponed due to rain, reducing the number of overs.

The biggest attraction between the pair of finals was the show by Rupam Islam and her band Fossils. The event was supposed to start at 5:30 pm. That too started late at around 6:30 due to rain. Tens of thousands of people appeared in the field pulling the fossils.

And in the meantime, it was known that there was a problem with the hospitality box ticket. CAB arranged free entry to the field in the entire tournament. Cricket lovers were given the facility to enter the ground for free in the final as well. A large number of people thronged to hear Rupam and Fossil’s songs at the closing ceremony. And at that time, it is known that fraud has been done with the tickets of the final.

It was learned that some went to enter the hospitality box with color xerox of the original ticket. There is no way to understand at a glance. But it was seen that the ticket was as thin as paper. Color xerox of original ticket. But where there is an opportunity to enter the field for free, why fraud with tickets?

It was learned that the hospitality box ticket meant sitting in an air-conditioned box to watch the game as well as free food. That is why it is alleged that fraud has been done with this ticket. All in all, the Bengal T-20 League final was uncomfortable for CAB as well.
