Kolkata: The entire IPL (IPL 2026) season has not gone well for Mumbai Indians. And the captain of that team Hardik PandyaHe (Hardik Pandya) has come under fire for the team’s performance, his own performance. This time Hardik was also punished after the defeat against KKR.
Hardik made his comeback after recovering from a back injury in a low-scoring match at the Eden Gardens. Paltan captain was punished at the end of that match. He scored 26 runs with the bat. However, Hardik created a great opportunity with the ball in a low scoring match. It was because of him that Rovman Powell took the catch. If that catch was taken, the match would have been more frozen and under pressure KKR. However, Robin Minj and Deepak Chahar missed the catch at fine leg due to Talmel’s absence.
Even after the catch miss, Hardik was not seen to react much, instead he tried to boost the morale of his teammates. But just then Manish Pandey hit two fours off Hardik. His 10 percent match fee has been deducted, as well IPLHe was also awarded one demerit point for breaching Level 1 of the Rules.

Talking about the match, KKR had to beat Mumbai Indians to keep the slightest hope of reaching the IPL playoffs. Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and sent Mumbai Indians to bat first. Mumbai Indians were stuck at 147/8 in the rain-hit first innings. Mumbai Indians were 105/7 at one point. Mumbai scored 52 runs in the last 4 overs. Corbin Bosh scored an unbeaten 32 off 18 balls. Durant bowled fast Sunil Narain. One wicket for just 13 runs in 4 overs. 2 wickets each for Cameron Green, Sourav Dubey and Karthik Tyagi.
KKR achieved the target by losing 6 wickets with 7 balls remaining. Tejaswi Singh Dahiya made his IPL debut as a concussion after Angakrish Raghuvanshi suffered a head injury while catching. Instead of Raghuvanshi, Manish Pandey played an innings of 45 runs from 33 balls. KKR won the 2014 final with his bat. Rovman Powell made 40 off 30 balls.
