A friend of the Bhatia family claimed that when they went to the spot and asked eyewitnesses, they came to know that there was a loud noise during the clash. At that time everyone thought maybe a bike had hit the guardrail or barricade. But when they got there, they found two teenagers lying injured on the road. The family of the deceased alleged that they have not yet been told how far the investigation has progressed in the incident or whether the culprits have been identified or not.
According to the police, after this incident, the truck moved towards North-East Delhi. The owner of the truck claimed that the driver of the truck, which was carrying goods for construction, went some distance and deposited the truck with its owner and ran away from there. The killer truck has been impounded for now. The police informed that the surrounding states are searching for the truck driver.
But what is worrying is that the venue is known as one of the most protected areas of the capital. Election commission office, police head office are at a stone’s throw away. The Parliament Police Station and the District Discipal Office are also a few hundred meters away. Concerns are growing as a truck ran away killing two youths at such a place.
