Lucknow: Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant is going through a nightmare in the current IPL. No run on the bat. Questions are being raised about the captaincy. The team won only 2 out of 8 matches. Sanjeev Goenka’s team is bottom of all in the points table.
Looking at this performance, former Indian player Wasim Zafar demanded the removal of Pant from the captaincy of Lucknow. Along with this, he also informed that who should be given the responsibility of the party instead of Panth. According to Zafar, the burden of captaincy is becoming heavy on Panth.
Who should captain LSG instead of Panth?
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Wasim Zafar said, “I think a player like Rishabh Pant should be played as a batsman. If you release him, you can get the best out of him. You can ask him to go and play and win matches. Don’t put the burden of captaincy on him. I think Aiden Markram is a good captain. He has captained well in the South African jersey. He is mentally strong. I think Markram is the best of the players. can do.”
Zafar added, “But it doesn’t look like it will actually happen. It’s just my suggestion, but if I was with their team, that’s what I would have done. Now Lucknow is completely broken. It’s hard to know what to expect from them now. If I was in the dugout, the first thing I’d do would be to make Markram the captain.”
Lucknow’s poor performance in IPL
Lucknow played 8 matches this season. Sanjeev Goenka’s team has lost 6 of them. The team won only 2 games. Lucknow is 10th in the points table i.e. at the bottom. Total 4 points in possession and Net Run Rate -1.106. From here it seems almost impossible for the team to qualify for the playoffs. The team has to play 6 more league matches. If the team wins all 6 matches, they will have 16 points. Still, the playoffs are uncertain.
