Ahmedabad: IPL final is going on. Meanwhile, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar made a proposal to change the opening of the IPL. He said that the bowlers should also be given some facilities to maintain the balance in the T20 format. And for that, the legendary cricketer said to make a big change in the rules.
In an event, Sachin Tendulkar said, ‘Impact player rule in IPL should be removed now.’
After hearing Sachin’s proposal, there was applause from the audience. Let us remind you that there were celebrities like Anil Kumble to Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar, Ashwin to Zaheer Khan in the audience. Sachin said, ‘It is my personal opinion that the impact player rule in IPL should be removed now. Already T20 cricket means to play 20 overs. And there is an extra batter being played. An already tough test for the bowlers. I think there is no balance.’

A more significant proposition is offered by Master Blaster. Said, ‘I also have an opinion about 6 overs of power play. When two fielders are outside the 30 yard circle. Let’s split that power play into two. Let the first 4 overs be as it is for the batters. Let the next 2 overs be in the hands of the fielding team. They take it at their own convenience. Can happen at any time during the match. Where an extra fielder can be placed outside the circle for two consecutive overs. The fielding team will also be able to control the game a bit.
This is not the end, a bowler should be allowed to bowl 5 overs, pleads Sachin. Said, ‘Let a bowler bowl 5 overs. I always want the best bowler of the team to bowl one extra over. Wouldn’t you like to see the team’s best bowler bowl more?’
Sachin also said, ‘The best batsman can bat even 20 overs. Then why not allow the best bowler of the team to bowl five overs?’
