Mumbai: Currently IPL is going on in full swing. However, before the end of the Twenty20 tournament, the cricketers of the Indian team will have to enter the field in the red ball fight. IPL India is scheduled to play a Test match against Afghanistan (IND vs AFG) within a week of its conclusion. In that match, how will the eleven of the Indian team be, the practice has started. And naturally the name of Mohammed Shami is coming up in that practice.
Shami has been out of the Indian team for the past few days. His form, fitness, however, has not been an excuse, but the Indian selectors have made it clear that they are no longer considering Shami’s inclusion in the Indian team. However, Shami has been performing well in domestic cricket and is repeatedly coming to the center of practice. Where is Afghanistan? Indian team How will it be, the question arises, it is heard that regular test bowlers may be rested, Shami’s name is coming up in the minds of many in the discussion of getting a chance.
However, reports claim that Shami’s return against Afghanistan is virtually unlikely. According to the TOI report, the Indian selectors will hold a meeting in the next seven-ten days to discuss the Indian team once the IPL playoff spots are confirmed. It is reported that the meeting may involve talks on preparing some fast bowlers, selecting them for the present and the future. Yashpreet Bumrah’s team has been knocked out of the IPL playoffs. So his game against Afghanistan and his workload management will be discussed in this meeting.
However, a source said that the selectors of the Indian team are not willing to hand over the Test cap to anyone easily, even if the opponent is Afghanistan. He said, ‘The selectors don’t want to give him a Test cap because India will play against Afghanistan. They want to play the best XI. They are not in favor of removing the test cap so easily. Siraj’s workload is huge. A decision on Bumrah will be taken only after discussions. It must be remembered that the last time India played a Test against Afghanistan, only the best XI came down.’
Who can stand a chance against the Afghans? According to reports, Ranji TrophyAqib Nabi, who performed well in the election, is in the race. But the point here is that he was not part of the ‘A’ team, even though Prince Yadav performed well in the IPL, he hardly played first-class cricket. However, Ansul Kamboj made his Test debut last year. His and Gurnoor Brar’s workload has been asked to increase gradually. It is expected that they will be in the election race.
