NASA Artemis II Mission: The wait for humans to return to the Moon through NASA’s ambitious mission ‘Artemis-2’ has become a little longer. Earlier this mission was to be launched on February 8, but now NASA has postponed it till March. The team took this decision after two days of intensive ‘wet dress rehearsal’ at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman confirmation That the first priority is to examine the system closely and deal with the challenges before launching.

Hydrogen leaks and technical problems increase concerns?

The biggest reason for delaying the launch is the liquid hydrogen leak found during the ‘wet dress rehearsal’. Wet dress rehearsal is a kind of fueling test, in which all the systems are checked by filling fuel in the rocket. During the test, when the countdown reached T-5 minutes, suddenly the hydrogen leak rate increased and the automatic system stopped the process. Apart from this, problems were also seen in the cameras due to interruption in the audio communication channel and severe cold. Engineers are now analyzing the data so that a second rehearsal can be conducted after the repairs.

Why did the astronauts come out of quarantine?

The four astronauts selected for this mission – Reed Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen – have currently been released from quarantine. He was quarantined in Houston since January 21 to avoid any kind of infection before the flight. Now once the next launch date is decided, they will be quarantined again about two weeks before the flight. For now, instead of going to Kennedy Space Center, he will focus on his training and other protocols.

Why is Artemis-2 mission historic?

Artemis-2 mission is special because after 54 years of Apollo mission, man will once again go close to the moon. This will be a 10-day mission, in which four astronauts will board NASA’s Orion spacecraft and go about 4,600 miles beyond the far side of the moon. However, this mission will not land on the surface of the moon. Its main objective is to test life support, navigation and communication systems in deep space. This will be a big step for future human settlement on the Moon and missions to Mars.

Who are the brave heroes of this mission?

The most experienced astronaut Reed Wiseman is commanding the mission. Along with him, Victor Glover will play the role of a pilot, who had earlier flown to the International Space Station through Space-X Crew-1. Mission specialist Christina Koch holds the record for the longest stay in space by a woman (328 days). The fourth member is Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency. When these travelers re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere, their speed will be approximately 25,000 miles per hour, which will be the fastest speed in human history.
