New Delhi: Pakistan Cricket (Pakistan Cricket) and controversy cannot stay away from each other for long. This time there is a new controversy in Pakistan cricket and at the center of that controversy is the star cricketer of the Pakistan team, Mohammad Nawaz. The 32-year-old spinner was banned for three matches.

Mohammad Nawaz has been banned for three months for violating ICC anti-doping rules. His ban will be reduced from three months to one month as he completes an anti-doping treatment program. Nawaz was tested for dope before the T20 World Cup match against Netherlands, where he was found to have anti-doping substances in his body. Nawaz admitted to consuming the substance. He claims it was consumed at other times outside of the tournament and had nothing to do with his performance.

Nawaz participated in an anti-doping program and after spending two-and-a-half months in exile, which began on May 1, Nawaz’s sentence was suspended. According to the ICC media, Nawaz will not be out of the field for any time due to punishment. As a result of the doping scandal, Nawaz’s career records from the match in the Netherlands on February 7 to May 1 will not be added to his career.

Incidentally, a few days ago former Under Secretary of the Union Home Ministry RVS Mani alleged that drug smuggling was a regular occurrence among Pakistani cricket teams and delegations visiting India. The two former cricketers were banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in 2006 for taking the banned drug ‘nandrolone’. In this context, he mentioned the names of Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif.

The Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Drugs Tribunal banned Akhtar for two years and Asif for one year after being found guilty of using the banned anabolic steroid ‘nandrolone’ in a dope test.

In late September 2006, PCB’s internal doping tests of both the players came back positive. They were later dropped from Pakistan’s squad ahead of the team’s opening match against Sri Lanka in Jaipur during the Champions Trophy held in India. This time again the name of a Pakistani star is associated with the consumption of banned substances.
