Dr. Smita tells that eating radish with food keeps the stomach light and appetite also remains healthy. Consumption of radish is considered beneficial for people who often suffer from acidity. Radish is also beneficial for the liver. Such elements are found in it, which help in detoxifying the liver. This removes the toxic elements accumulated in the body and increases the efficiency of the liver. Radish juice is also useful in preventing jaundice.
According to Dr. Smita Srivastava, radish also plays an important role in increasing immunity. Vitamin C, potassium and antioxidants are found in it, which strengthens the body’s immunity. Eating radish in winter helps in preventing cold, cough and infection. The sulfur compounds present in radish are also beneficial for skin and hair. Radish is also considered good for heart health. The potassium present in it helps in controlling blood pressure, which reduces the risk of heart related diseases. Radish is also helpful in keeping cholesterol balanced. However, consume it only in balanced quantity.
