Mullanpur: The title was narrowly missed out last time. Shreyas Iyer led Punjab Kings were defeated in the final. But in the new IPL (IPL 2026) season, Kings’ chariot is running fast. Shreyas Iyer’s team is being praised by everyone from experts to cricket lovers. On Sunday, Punjab cemented their hold on the top of the league table with an emphatic win over Lucknow Super Giants. But after that match, a viral video caught everyone’s attention.
Before the award ceremony at the end of the match Shreyas IyerK is seen asking the cameraman for shoes. After the match, the captains have to appear at the award ceremony and express their opinion. Shreyas was similarly called upon to express his opinion at the end of the match. But suddenly Shreyas noticed his shoes. Instead of sports shoes, he had slippers on his feet.
IPL Before this season, no rules regarding dress code have been introduced. Perhaps it was with that in mind that Shreyas was forced to change his shoes. But there was no one around. What is the way? Shreyas saw a cameraman ahead. Forced to ask for shoes from him, he changed the shoes. This funny video has gone viral on social media.
During PBKS vs LSG, after the match, Shreyas Iyer forgot his shoes and ended up wearing the cameraman’s shoes 😂.

Shreyas had a home match on Sunday. Two Punjab Kings batsmen – Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly – stormed that match. Priyansh’s opening pairing with Prabhasimran Singh is being called one of the most feared of the tournament. But on Sunday, Pravsimran returned before opening the accounts. Priyansh covers that lack. He played an innings of 93 runs off 37 balls. His century looked blocked. That opportunity was missed for just seven runs. He created panic in the Lucknow camp with four fours and nine sixes. Connolly scored 87 runs off 46 balls. Both changed the color of the match by adding 182 runs off 80 balls for the second wicket. Batting first, Punjab Kings scored 254/7 in 20 overs.
Chasing 255, Lucknow Super Giants were caught short of two hundred runs. On this day Ayush Badoni and Mitchell Marsh opened the innings for them. Lucknow played three opening pairs in 7 matches. After Marsh scored 28-ball 40 and Badoni 21-ball 35, Pant dropped to number three and scored 23-ball 43. Aiden Markram scored 42 off 22 balls in the next over, but it wasn’t enough.
