New Delhi: He had to fight a legal battle to join the trial. But Vinesh Phogat was relieved at the beginning of the trial. Vinesh Phogat is competing in the 53kg category at the trials held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium to qualify for the Asian Games. He won his first match by a big margin. He defeated Jyoti of Haryana by 7-1.
There was a lot of discussion about which category Vinesh will compete in on Saturday. When she was informed that she could only compete in the 50 kg category, the female wrestler opposed her and complained to the federation of discrimination.
Vinesh Phogat started cautiously in the match on Saturday, but started to show his power after a while. He attacks Jyoti’s right leg, knocking him down to lead 3-0. Jyoti also attacks the legs, but Vinesh defends well and fails to counterattack quickly. With this move she goes 7-0, Jyoti gets a ‘pushout’ point.
