Sandeep Sarkar, Kolkata: After coming to power in the state, the BJP government led by Subhendu Adhikari presented the first budget on Monday. While presenting the budget, Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta also announced the allocation for the playground. What did the sports world?

  • To take sports education in the state to a more modern and professional level, plans have been made to set up a sports university. 150 crores have been allocated in this sector. It has also been announced to launch a 3D animation course combining sports and technology.
  • Several projects have also been taken up in the general budget for North Bengal. Besides, the construction of international standard indoor and outdoor stadiums has been announced to enhance the sports infrastructure of North Bengal. An initial allocation of Rs. 20 crores has been made for this project.
  • Plans have been taken to build mini indoor stadiums in each assembly constituency to increase opportunities for rural and suburban players. 5 crore has been allocated for each project.
  • Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta has announced financial assistance of up to 1 crore rupees to the clubs participating in the national level competition.
  • 50 crores have been allocated for providing job opportunities and awards to medal winning athletes at international and national level. The aim is to encourage the talented players of Bengal.
  • According to the state government, the main objective of this plan is to strengthen Bengal’s representation in Olympics, Commonwealth Games and other international events. Maidan believes that with improved infrastructure, modern training system and financial support, West Bengal can emerge as one of the sports powers of the country in the coming days.
  • 100 crores have been allocated for the renovation of all stadiums in the state, including the Rabindra Sarovar Stadium.
  • Those studying in government and government-approved colleges and preparing for competitive exams will be given a one-time assistance of 30,000 taka.
  • Under the Swami Vivekananda Merit Scholarship, full tuition fees and health insurance will be provided to those pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies in top 100 universities in the world.

Sports Minister Indranil Khan is excited to see the allocation in the sports sector. He posted on social media and wrote, ‘Chief Minister for allocating so much in the sports and youth sector Good luck And thanks to Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta.

Sports Minister Indranil Khan told ABP Live Bangla, ‘those who are graduates but unemployed, aged between 21 and 45 years, will get Rs 3,000 per month. Those in the same age bracket who are not graduates, illiterate or poorly educated, or not studying, and who are unemployed, will get Rs 2,000 a month.’
