When people drink celery water in the morning, their digestion becomes a little better and their stomach feels light. After this, weight loss is seen after a few days.

It is often claimed in social media and health tips that celery water melts fat rapidly and reduces weight in a few days. Many people also start drinking boiled celery water every morning, thinking that this will reduce body fat faster. But does celery water really burn fat? Local 18 talked about this with Dr. Rajkumar, an AYUSH doctor from Rishikesh. Dr. Rajkumar explains that many elements are found in celery, which help in improving digestion. It contains a compound called thymol, which can reduce problems like gas, indigestion and flatulence. Therefore, when people drink celery water in the morning, their digestion can get a little better and their stomach feels light. Many people see weight loss in a few days.
There are two types of weight in the body. One is fat and the other is water weight. When a person suddenly changes his diet or starts taking detox drinks like celery water, excess water can be lost from the body. Due to this, the weight starts appearing a few kilos less on the machine. But this is not a sign of reducing body fat. As soon as a person returns to his old diet, this water weight can come back again. Celery water can slightly improve metabolism, which keeps the digestive process of the body healthy. But it is not a magical drink that automatically melts fat.

If a person is eating too many calories, is not doing physical activity and is expecting to lose weight just by drinking celery water, then he will not get much benefit. In fact, the biggest rule of losing weight is that the body spends more calories than it is taking. Some people may feel a little less hungry by drinking celery water, due to which they eat less and gradually lose weight. But this effect is not the same in every person. Consuming excessive amounts of celery can cause acidity or stomach irritation in some people. Therefore it should be taken in limited quantity only.
