Kolkata: The Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the domestic cricket schedule. A record 1788 matches will be organized in the upcoming season, including men’s, women’s and all age-based tournaments.
The domestic cricket season begins on August 23. The season will start with the Duleep Trophy. This red ball tournament will have 6 regional teams. Then the Irani Cup will be held from October 1. which is played between the Ranji champion team and the remaining XI. Like last time, Ranji Trophy and Colonel CK Naidu Trophy will be played in two parts. The Ranji Trophy has 32 teams divided into four groups at the elite level. Each group will have eight teams. There will be 6 teams in the plate stage.
Ranji Trophy will start on October 11. The first phase will continue till November 5. The second phase will start on January 17, 2027. The group stage will continue till February 4. The knock out phase will be from February 9 to March 3. Syed Mushtaq Ali T20, the senior level T20 tournament of domestic cricket will run from November 14 to December 6. The Vijay Hazare Trophy, a senior level one-day tournament, will be held from December 14 to January 8.
In the Ranji Trophy, like last time, the top two teams in the points table from the 4 groups will play in the quarter finals. The winners advance to the semi-finals. Then the fate of the trophy will be decided in the final. The Vijay Hazare Trophy will also be played in the same format. However, while the group format of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 is the same (ie four groups of 8 teams each), the top two teams from each group will play in the Super League. There will be two groups in the Super League. After each team plays 3 matches, the best two teams from A and B groups will play in the final.

The remaining seven teams in this group are – Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Services, Gujarat, Kerala, Delhi and Odisha. All in all, Bengal has fallen into the easy group.
Bengal is in this group in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Along with Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Vadodara, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Karnataka and Mizoram. Bengal are in Group D of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Along with Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tripura, Odisha, Assam and Puducherry. All Group A matches of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be played in Kolkata.
