CAB announced the final list of coaches of various teams for the upcoming season on Wednesday. The name of Sourashis Lahiri, who coached Bengal’s under-19 team last season, is not there. The former Bengal offspinner is disappointed to see this. In an exclusive interview given to ABP Live Bangla, he expressed anger. He said in a blunt language that he was angry because he did not compromise with corruption and protested against injustice. The veteran of many wars of Bengal also made a serious complaint that Bengal cricket is being destroyed due to vote politics in the hall of CAB.

Q: Did you apply for the U19 coach position?

Psoriasis: I wanted to coach the U19 team. Because I brought the team to one place for the last three years. All the big names who have coached the team before, failed to qualify the team for 12 years. Devang Gandhi left as Delhi’s coach before the start of the season, 10 days before the start of the Binu Makar Trophy. I was the coach of the senior team. In that season, Sanjeev Sanyal alone managed the U-19 team. You are in charge of the under 19 team. You have done so well in the U23 team. You coach the U19 team to fix the supply line. I take time to think. Devang asked me in the interview, what was the difficulty while working? Question: How was the performance of Bengal under 19 team last season?

Psoriasis: I lost to Punjab in the ODI semifinals. 14 points in the first two matches of the Cooch Behar Trophy. In the third match, we went to Vilayet and lost to Chhattisgarh. The next match was against Goa in Kalyani. Indigo went on strike while we were in Villa. I told CAB to talk to the board to see if the Goa match is postponed. Because it was an emergency situation. No one from CAB seems to have spoken to the board. We reached Kalyani directly from Vilai by bus for 30 hours. I just dropped home early in the morning and reached Kalyani at eleven o’clock. That afternoon, the boys practiced. Next day match. Boys have to descend without any rest. The match was a draw. I digested the lead of the first innings. The last match was against Uttar Pradesh in Bareilly. 65-68 overs were played in the four-day match in fog. There was no result. We get knocked out of the tournament. No one in the CAB was supposed to hear this? Why should the boys take a 30-hour bus journey to the field? I repeatedly messaged Dadi, Sanjay Das, Bablu Kole.
