India’s Rishikant Singh won silver in India. He himself is a member of the Indian Army.

Rishikant completed his training from Army Sports Institute Pune. He is representing the army and the country in the Commonwealth Games.

Rishikant Singh won the silver medal in men’s 60kg category. He lifted a total of 264 kg.

Rishikant set a new Commonwealth Games record by lifting 121 kg in the snatch round.

Earlier, Rishikant had set a record in 2025 Commonwealth Championship. Seva lifted a total of 271 kg.

Born in Manipur in 1998, Rishikant Singh is currently the country’s number 1 weightlifter in the men’s 60 kg category.

It is to be noted that the young Indian lost the gold in the clean and jerk category despite scoring in the snatch. Rishikant successfully lifted 143 kg in his first attempt but failed to lift 151 kg in his last attempt.

Rishikant Singh trained in Bulgaria under the supervision of internationally renowned coaches.
